A man has been jailed for 9
months for fraud after taking
£4,450 for work he did not carry
out. Frederick Buck, 22, of Castle
View, Newark, called at a house in
Draycott and asked the occupier if
she wanted her conifers and trees
cutting back. She agreed and paid
him £250 but this soon became
£450. He then offered to do more
work and drove her to the Lloyds
Bank in Long Eaton three times on
the same day where she withdrew
a total of £4,000. He took the
money but did none of the work.
He was arrested a month later
after police traced his van. He
pleaded guilty to fraud.
