There will be no bin collections in Erewash on Bank
Holiday Monday, September 19th due to the state funeral for Her Majesty Queen
Elizabeth II. Collections scheduled for Monday 19th September
will now take place on Saturday 24th September. Residents whose collections
would normally be on a Monday are kindly asked leave their bins out by 7am on
September 24th.
Any trade collections due on Monday 19th September
will be collected between Tuesday 20th September and Friday 23rd September.
Business affected will be contacted. Councillor
Garry Hickton, Lead Member for Environment at Erewash Borough Council, says:
“September 19th
will be a bank holiday which will give as many people as possible the chance to
mark Her Majesty’s passing. I’m sure that residents will understand that in
these circumstances there will be no bin collections carried out on that day.
These will instead be carried out on the Saturday, a day when collections do
not usually take place.”
