WHEELIE BIN ARREST AFTER MOPED THEFT

Two men have been arrested after a woman had her bank card stolen in Borrowash. Police received a number of calls from concerned members of the public about three men riding a moped in the area. Officers were en route when a further call was made to say that a woman had had her bank card stolen outside Nationwide in the centre of the village.
Soon after, the moped was spotted and the three men ran off. Two were found nearby, one of whom was hiding in a wheelie bin, and were arrested. A third man is still being sought by officers in relation to the incident. He is described as being in his late teens or early 20s and was wearing dark clothing at the time. He was last seen around the area where Derby Road becomes Nottingham Road on the border of Borrowash and Spondon. The incident occurred on Wednesday 27th June.
